Artistic bio

My name is Emily, and I’m the owner and operator of Chemilyan Entertainment.

I’ve always had a passion…

Ever since I was a child, my vision of the future has been about performing. I have passion for entertainment and artistic depth which gives me the gift of projecting emotion and energy to my audience.
There is hardly a moment in my childhood where I wasn’t monologuing alongside a movie, singing in choir, or putting on shows for my family. Theatrics is my first knee jerk reaction because I believe in the power of laughter and what my skills can achieve in making the world a brighter, more fun-filled place.

How did I get started?

My passion always began with music and how my body responded to it. But my body wasn’t always the part of me I could trust. At 3 years old, I was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, that I would eventually need surgery for in order to live. Until that pivotal day in my life, I was physically impaired. One could call it a disability, considering I was unable to challenge myself in the ways I envisioned.
So I improvised…
I explored theater and music theory with vocal training. I wrote poetry and stories. I would draw. I would paint. I would cook. I would make my own clothes and contraptions.
Being creative was the fire in my soul and If I couldn’t forge the path in one way, I would chose another. With art, I always found a way.

Then my body found a way…

In 2008, I received the open-heart surgery I needed at 14 years old, and began my journey in dance and movement art.

Being one that took dancing seriously…

I left high school as a competitive dancer and decided to pursue a professional path by earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 2017. There I learned many elements of dance training through the lenses of science, history, music theory, literature, child development, marketing, film and stage production, hair and makeup artistry as well as costume design and manufacturing! It was on this campus that I learned how to think like an artist, develop my own goals and ideals, and truly emerge into who I am as a performer.
Since graduating with a BFA, I’ve worked tirelessly to learn as many skills as possible and broaden my range as an artist. Some of my notable milestones are SAG-Aftra film work, featured aerial performances in the Historic Savannah Theatre and Plant Riverside District and 4x national rankings through the United States Pole Sport Federation as a member of Team USA in 2020 and 2021! Some of the new skills I've learned along the way include acting for film, aerial apparatus, fire manipulation and LED flow arts! Check out the photo gallery to see my resume in action!

“My mission statement is to help inspire the city of savannah to become a prominent performing arts capital of the southeast.”

Thank you for Supportting my journey!
